2/26/2011 - Scheduling Meeting Changed
The Meeting will be held on FEBRUARY 26 at Captains Stadium (directions to follow)
- 9U will meet there at 10:30 am
- 11U and 12U will meet at Noon
- 10U will meet at 1:15 pm

5/4/2011 - Buckeye Dominance
The Buckeye Baseball League demonstrated its overall strength last weekend in the Hudson Tournament. The 9U Mosquito Lake Mudcats finished in the Final Four losing in the SemiFinals. The 10U Mosquito Lake MudCats "ran the table" all the way to the Finals until they were defeated in the Tournament Championship. One Highlight for the 10U MudCats was beating and essentially eliminating a Team that had won 5 Tournaments last season. Way to go MudCats!!
The 11U Nordonia Knights, coached by Brian Carson, won the Hudson Tournament by defeating every opponent they faced by coming from behind in each game. In the SemiFinals, the Knights beat the Tournament host Team (Hudson Explorers) on their way to winning the Championship.
Versus Hudson, an incredible combination of pitching from Justin Carson & Drew Wilson 3 innings each held down a formidable Hudson Explorers hitting team. In the bottom of the sixth inning, Pitcher Drew Wilson executed a brilliant pick off move to earn the second last out of the game. Timely team hitting & aggressive baserunning secured the Knights coming from 2 runs behind to securing 10-9 victory. (Big hits came from several players including, Adam Haag, Phillip Vincent, Andrew Funtash, Tommy Cummings, Justin Carson, Robby Levak and Drew Wilson 3 RBI)
In Game 4 (Championship) vs. Dover...Again bouncing back from a 3-2 deficit after 2 innings the Knights put together a 5 run third inning and it would be all they needed as Robby Levak pitched 3 scoreless innings surrendering 3 hits as he was backed by SEVERAL superior defensive plays by Shortstop, Justin Carson, solid defense from 2nd baseman Nick DeRusso, great Centerfield play from Adam Haag...In addition, Catcher Brendan O’Donnell also had a tremendous defensive game throwing out an attempted steal at third, and a fantastic self- put out on an attempted steal at home!! Final score 7-4.
Other Weekend Highlights & Special Notes:
The Nordonia Knights U11 team battled from being behind IN each of their 4 tournament games to WIN. Through 12 innings of pitching in the semi-final, & Championship combined the Nordonia Knights Pitchers, Drew Wilson, Justin Carson & Robby Levak only surrendered 1 WALK through 12 innings. In all 4 tournament games, Drew Wilson Recorded 3 Wins and only walked 1 batter in 8 innings pitched; At the Plate: Nick DeRusso registered 6 hits, 5 runs & 5 RBI...Robby Levak 7 hits & 5 RBI. On D...Great Defensive Plays were turned in by SS Justin Carson, 2B Nick DeRusso, CF & 2B Adam Haag & Cather Brendan O’Donnell all weekend.
